Screw spindle pumps
Screw spindle pumps are self-priming, rotary positive displacement pumps.
Types
- short pumps for pumping media of a normal temperature
- long pumps for pumping media of higher temperatures
- with an internal bearing arrangement for pumping liquids that are also suitable for lubricating the rolling bearings
- with a bearing arrangement outside the suction chamber for pumping liquids that are not suitable for lubricating the rolling bearings.
Bearing arrangement
Screw spindle pumps must safely transmit high radial forces and guide the screw spindle with zero clearance. Double row angular contact ball bearings are used in all types of screw spindle pumps. They act as locating bearings, guiding the screw spindles in radial and axial direction with zero clearance. Cylindrical roller bearings are installed as floating bearings at the gearwheel end, which is subjected to higher radial loads.
