Schaeffler, a leading global supplier to the automotive and industrial sectors, is proud to mark its 50th anniversary of operations in Australia.

Over the past five decades, Schaeffler has established itself as a leading provider of high-quality products and services in Australia. The company started as a joint venture between INA Germany and Consolidated Bearing Company (CBC) in 1973, with one staff operating from its head office. It has since scaled to 70 employees representing 27 nationalities.

Amir Marashian, Managing Director for Australia, said: “We are proud to celebrate 50 years of operations in Australia and look forward to many more years ahead. Our journey has been marked by many great achievements and challenges. We thank everyone who has contributed to our success so far.”

In 1981, Fischer’s Automatische Gussstahlkugelfabrik (FAG) Australia was established, and in 1988, INA Australia began supplying to the New Zealand market. The company continued to expand its offerings, including establishing the Global Grinding Mill Competence Centre in Melbourne in 1992 and the production of Rocker Arms for Ford by INA Australia in 1999.

In 2007, all the company’s Australian entities were consolidated under Schaeffler Australia Pty Limited. Today, Schaeffler continues to grow in Australia, with its Online Condition Monitoring products and services serving as the Competence Centre for Asia Pacific and its Global Grinding Mill Competence Centre supporting significant projects worldwide.

Schaeffler has also developed a strong brand in the automotive aftermarket sector with its range of clutch and release systems, engine and transmission applications, and chassis applications. The company has also launched its next-generation garage portal, REPXPERT, to provide garages and mechanics with extensive technical information, repair data, and extensive training courses to make daily work easier.

Given our strong expertise in the automotive sector, we are delighted to work with our customers to provide a comprehensive suite of solutions – from products to practical knowledge – to deal with the complexities of tomorrow,” Warren Barnett, Head of Automotive Australia, said.

“We’re also working with key educational partners to bring these training content to the classroom, break down some of the misconceptions, and strengthen the workforce for tomorrow.” The company was also recently awarded the Great Place to Work® certification. The prestigious award is based on a rigorous methodology and validated employee feedback that empowers leaders to identify gaps and improve their workplace culture.

“At Schaeffler, we continuously strive to foster a collaborative environment built on the foundation of our leadership principles, Trust, Transparency and Teamwork. Our continued success and growth over the past five decades are also testament to the passion and commitment of our colleagues in offering quality products and services in Australia and beyond.” Amir shared.
