  • Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket has launched a new portfolio of Non-Asbestos Organic (NAO) brake pads in Thailand under the FAG brand
  • The new brake pads are developed with Advanced Friction Technology to enable safer and cleaner mobility

Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket today announced that it has launched a new portfolio of Non-Asbestos Organic (NAO) brake pads in Thailand designed to provide safer, cleaner and more comfortable journeys. Developed with advanced friction technology under the FAG brand, the brake pads use a 3-layer shim technology from Sweden to insulate noise and prevents vibrations while braking.

The brakes also feature anti-fade premium coatings from Italy as well as special designed friction material to allow for better adhesion between the brake pads and brake discs.

This helps to improve braking efficiency by providing a firm grip and uniform bedding between the brake pads and discs allowing for improvements to the service life of both braking components. “Brake pads play a crucial role in a vehicle’s braking system. While they are there to help vehicles to a stop, they must operate with minimal noise as possible and provide long lasting friction performance despite facing strong pressure. Therefore, it is important that vehicles are equipped with reliable and durable brake pads.” Parichart Suksawas, Head of Marketing Southeast Asia Automotive Aftermarket [LBJYRC1] said.

The new range of brake pads also include a Y-Groove technology that helps to drain out dust formations and water for improved air flow and temperatures to prevent the brake pads from cracking.

Safer drives with SAFE PRO

Developed for safer drives, the SAFE PRO range of brake pads is designed to significantly reduce the amount of brake dust and noise level to enhance the overall driving comfort for a cleaner and more pleasant ride. The SAFE PRO brakepads have also been tested by XYZ lab [LBJYRC2] based on the SAE J2521 procedure to meet the noise levels of original equipment (OE) standards. High Performance Friction Technology with PERFORMA Catered to heavy duty and high torque vehicles, the PERFORMA range of brake pads delivers consistent braking performance and shorter stopping distances even under demanding conditions2. The brake pads are also compliant with the standards for Copper Free formulation set by the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA) in the USA, having being certified as ‚N‘ rated under the AASA LeafMarkTM. “By providing low dust, low noise, and low vibration features, along with exceptional disc protection and prolonged service life for brake components, we aim to provide drivers with an unparalleled driving experience that is safer, cleaner and comfortable,“ Ms. Suksawas added.[LBJYRC3] The AASA LeafMark™ for friction materials is being adopted internationally to certify hazardous material content, notably copper, within a brake pad formulation. The certification has three levels of compliance – A, B or N – with products awarded the ‘N’ rating demonstrating the highest level of compliance. [LBJYRC4] [LBJYRC1]For approval.
